New Bridge Connects Lake Fairfax Park With Reston Trails

and Fairfax County Park Authority officials dedicated a pedestrian bridge over Colvin Run on Saturday. The span will allow hikers at Lake Fairfax Park to connect with Reston Association paths without having to wade through the creek.

The bridge is 40 feet long and six feet wide. The project also included the restoration of 232 feet of stream bank on parkland.

The project was worth more than $350,000, but did not use taxpayer money, FCPA officials said. It was completed using in-kind donations and public-private. Northern Virginia Stream Restoration did restoration and construction.
