New at Reston Town Center: Mayflowers
Shop moves elegant floral designs from Plaza America.

May Bernhardt's new Mayflowers location is small, but nearly every inch of it is covered with gorgeous blooms.
After 15 years at Plaza America, Bernhardt recently opened her floral shop at a new location at 11959 Market Street in Reston Town Center.
The store is located next to Pitango Gelato and across the plaza from Community Canteen. It's a spot that has lots of browsers and shoppers, so Mayflowers will likely get many walk-in shoppers to go with its already busy corporate, wedding and special event business.
"Moving here was something fresh and new," said Bernhardt. "It is a good change."
Mayflowers held an open house for Reston Town Center neighbors and loyal customers on Thursday. People stopped by to sample treats from Mon Ami Gabi and Morton's, and, of course, look at the unusual floral displays.
Mayflowers gets daily shipments of fresh flowers from all over the world, Bernhardt says. Bernhardt has an artistic eye, so even the smallest items - take a $12 Gerber daisy in a whimsical bud vase , for instance - have a signature touch.
