Colin Mills has been elected the new president of the Reston Citizens Association, the RCA announced.
Elections were held at the Reston Festival July 9 and 10.
Mills replaces Marion Stillson, who decided not to seek re-election. Mills also serves on the Reston Master Plan Special Study Task Force and is a past vice president of the RCA.
Incumbent at-large director, Tammi Petrine was re-elected to the RCA board, where she also serves as the co-chair of the Reston2020 Committee that is focused on the implementation of the Dulles Metrorail project and the Reston Master Plan.
John Hanley, the incumbent seeking re-election from the Hunters Woods district was also re-elected to the Board. He also currently serves as the co-chair of the Reston 2020 Committee.
Another incumbent, Diane M. Lewis, was re-elected as the South Lakes District Director.
Three new directors were also elected - C.J. Basik was elected to the second open at-large director seat, Gary N. Walker to the Lake Anne/Town Center/Tall Oaks director seat and Debra Eastham for the North Point seat.

More good news for Reston.
Colin Mills is a promising young Reston leader. And when was the last time you saw that "young" adjective preceding the name of a Reston leader??!
Young, yet experienced in community activity. He comes at a good time for the Citizens Association. RCA is responsible for several important community initiatives, some still in the potential stages and others well established. A prime example of the latter is Reston 2020. This volunteer committee of the RCA is the real community voice in an otherwise floundering Master Planning process--if you don't believe me, check out their blog at www.reston2020.blogspot.com
Colin is joined by other new, energetic Board members--C.J. Basik, Gary Walker from over here at Lake Anne, and Debra Eastham from that area north of Reston.
We should be hearing more good things from our RCA in the months ahead!
