About 65 people joined in the moving candlelight vigil energized by Lake Anne resident Anahita Crevits. Those present expressed their grief over yet another senseless mass shooting, in this case young children and their teachers.
Several spoke of the need for action, long overdue from unresponsive elected officials, to restrict guns used to kill people en masse; and to find ways to address contributing mental health issues.
Some expressed the hope that this tragedy could be a tipping point leading to an end of inaction by local and national elected officials.

I sincerely hope that this massacre of innocents makes us serious about limiting access to the weapons behind these mass killings. We have ignored this problem for too long.
