Fairfax Connector is planning to start 15 new bus routes this year in conjunction with the opening of the Metro's Silver Line in December. The group has had a series of meetings in the last several weeks, including two in Reston, to get public feedback before deciding on final changes.

The new bus routes would replace current ones that take commuters to the West Falls Church station, the Fairfax County Department of Transportation says.

In late March or early April, the department will present a revised plan to the public.

But will commuter buses be enough to quell traffic concerns in Reston, where there will be a 2,300-spot parking garage at the Wiehle-Reston East Station. That station will the end of the line for the Silver Line for years. It will also be the only Phase 1 station with parking.

Meanwhile, Hudgins has said that traffic in Reston will take some adjusting when Metro opens, but it won't get worse. Read that story here.
