Injured Visitor Wants to Thank Stranger

New Hampshire woman grateful to Good Samaritan who helped her on Reston path last month.

A woman visiting Reston from New Hampshire over Thanksgiving wants to thank a Good Samaritan who drove her to the hospital when she was injured.

Robertine Wymans of Merrimack, NH, was in town visiting her daughter, who lives near Hunters Woods Village Center

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Wymans was walking alone on the path near Hunters Woods when she slipped and fell.

"About an hour into the walk I slipped on some leaves on the side of a path, heard a crack and knew immediately that I was in trouble," Wymans wrote in an email. "A few people in the distance ignored my pleas for help.

"Not familiar with the area, I knew I could not provide a location to 911. I had to move," she said.  "I moved through the leaves to the lower path that led to some buildings and started walking.  After exiting on the other side of the tunnel I faced a small hill and knew I would not make it to the top.

That's when the Good Samaritan appeared, Wymans said. The woman told her she saw Wymans from her third-floor apartment and knew something was wrong.

The woman put Wymans in her Honda Accord and drove her to Reston Hospital Center, where she stayed with her in the waiting room.

"I asked for her address information to thank her properly and she handed me her business card," Wymans said. "It took two days before I was well enough to travel back home with her business card securely tucked into my zipped inner pocket.  And, you guessed it,  I forgot about the card and laundered all the clothes from my trip."

"All I know is that her name is Beverly, and she lives on the third floor of an apartment building near the small shopping plaza," Wymans said. "Beverly, I hope this reaches you somehow.  You are a wonderful person, and I so want to thank you for your help."

Beverly, if you are reading, let Reston Patch know so Wymans can reach out to you directly.

Glad to hear a positive story from this area for a change. She's lucky she wasn't beaten and robbed over there.

I talked to a friend who lives in that complex and Beverly is her neighbor. She is going to direct her to this article.
