Hudgins: Wiehle Traffic Won't Be Worse

Hunter Mill Supervisor tells WTOP gridlock after Metro opens won't be worse than what is already here.

Hunter Mill Supervisor Cathy Hudgins tells WTOP that she does not forsee big traffic problems on Wiehle Avenue after the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station opens later this year.

"I live one block from Wiehle Avenue, and I don't think it's going to have any more gridlock than we have today," Hudgins said. "Will there be some hard days in the beginning? I think you're right. But the larger part of the message is that it's an asset coming here."

Hudgins' comments came in a story the radio station did on the potential for gridlock when the Silver Line opens. Wiehle-Reston East, where a 2,300-spot parking garage is now under construction, will be the end of the Silver Line for many years.
