South Lakes High School's Spirit of Reston Marching Band qualified for finals at the Bands of America Regional Championship on Saturday.

South Lakes competed against high-caliber marching bands from Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Virginia.  South Lakes finished 2nd in Class 4A in the preliminary competition.

All three Fairfax County bands had a great showing (South Lakes, Fairfax, and Madison) and qualified for finals,  where all divisions compete against each other.

South Lakes came in ninth,  Fairfax in fourth, and Madison again took third.

 Norwin High School, of Norwin, PA took first place for the second year in a row.
