The Washington area's Car Free Day is coming up Sept. 22, and Flippin' Pizza wants to make sure you pledge to leave your wheels at home that day.

The chain, which has a Reston store at South Lakes Village Center, is offering a coupon for two slices of pizza and a soda for anyone who pledges to car free by Sept. 19. 

To take the pledge, go to www.carfreemetrodc.com. In addition to the free pizza, registrants are become eligible to win prizes including an Apple®  iPad™, bicycle, tickets to Washington Nationals games, $25 SmarTrip cards, a Capital Bikeshare membership and more.

Commuter Connections, the sponsor of the event, says more than 7,000 people have already taken the pledge.
