Fairfax Making Progress in Reducing Homelessness

A 16-percent reduction despite recession.

Fairfax County's efforts and reducing and ending homelessness have had a big impact since Reston resident Dean Klein, director of the county office to prevent and end homelessness, put a 10-year plan in place in 2009.

Fairfax County's partnership with corporations and with nonprofits such as has resulted in a 16-percent reduction in homelessness in the last several years, says a Washington Post story.
