Downed Power Lines Close Sunset Hills
Monday morning traffic extra snarled on nearby streets.
Reston's usual morning traffic was extra-jammed on most major roads near Sunset Hills Road Monday as a downed power line closed that throughfare near Isaac Newton Square around 7 p.m.
Police closed down the road to make the repairs. As of 9 a.m., traffic was still slow-going on Reston Parkway, Sunrise Valley and nearby streets, even as crews reopened the road.

So that's what it was. The westbound lanes of Sunset Hills Road were blocked just west of Wiehle Avenue at midnight, so I turned south on Wiehle Avenue and took Sunrise Valley Drive instead.
