Dogwood Elementary Bus Involved in Collision
Two students transported to hospital after accident on South Lakes Court.
Two students on a school bus and the driver of a car were transported to Reston Hospital Center after the car collided with a Fairfax County Public Schools bus on Thursday morning.
The bus was carrying students heading to Dogwood Elementary School when it was rear-ended on South Lakes Court near Escalante Court shortly after 8 a.m., said Fairfax County Police public information officer Don Gotthardt.
The driver of the sedan was traken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Gotthardt said. Two students were also taken as a precaution, but did not have obvious injuries, he said.
The accident was cleared by 9:45 a.m. and another school bus delivered the rest of the students to school.

As I passed by my front window and looked out, I thought something terrible must have happened because there were so many emergency vehicles on the scene. Better safe than sorry. It looked like the car just smashed into the back of the bus. It was crunched a bit under the bus and had to be towed. Glad no one was seriously hurt.

Drivers, car and bus, need to stop texting while driving. If either were found doing so @ the time of the accident they should be prosecuted. I can't imagine how scared the children were.
