I've been trying to gather the money to open my store "BinaryBrew". I would love to open it in Plaza America next to Champps. My business is focused on super micro brew, a brew on premises concept where you get to brew your own beer on my equipment and then have the beer served in my bar and rated... If anyone wants to help me finance this well thought out business plan that has aspects of a beer stock market and very digital social networking integration for a bar that will bring everyone in Reston together outside of the 4 major bars in the Reston Town Center, let me know. The only think I like is the financing to get this thing off the ground. Let's hear it for locally owned businesses! I really want to see something that is not a chain or a franchise grow in Reston...

I am a long time home brewer and I applaud the general idea of promoting small batch beers in the community, but I think this idea has at least one fatal flaw. How would you satisfy food service authorities that the beer made by various amateurs on premises is healthy and sanitary enough to be served to the public? Also, your licensing would have to be for sale on premises, an expensive liquor license to boost your capital cost. What we really could use in the area is a good home brew supply store, but it would have to be integrated with another business, as I don't think the market is big enough to support such a store selling only home brew supplies, with other such stores in Mannassas and Falls Church.

The only thing I lack is financing and a laptop without autocorrect... :-)

I made my first visit to Baja Fresh on Saturday, while my power was out, and was treated to excellent service by a senior employee who seemed to be training a new staff member on the cash register. He gave me a discount when he had to substitute pinto beans for the black beans I had requested. When I mentioned that I had visited a dozen stores looking for ice that afternoon, he offered to give me a bag of ice for free. I am disappointed a business that worked so hard to please a customer would not succeed.

Went there tonite after tennis to get a salad and was bummed they were closed. I had no idea they were closed for good. The BF in Herndon over near Shoppers Food Warehouse had closed last year. What a bummer, now only Taco Bell available for fast Mexican food in our area.

I want to see Baja Fresh! I love that place! So now, not only is Baja Fresh closed, but so is California Tortilla up by Boston Market. So now, if I want a quick burrito I have to resort to Taco Bell? What is a bean-loving girl to do?

Does anyone know WHY Baja Fresh and California Tortilla closed? This is really disappointing...

When corporately owned places close - they hardly ever say why. Just no longer want to be in that location, did not renew their lease, etc.

Noooooo! Baja Fresh was great, well-prepared Mexican food! The staff at that location were always great, and I hope they find good employment elsewhere. Chipotle is a weak substitute for BF, and it is not Mexican. Chipotle burritos also have extremely high calorie counts. For a great burrito, call ahead to any Anita's location and pick up at their take-out window.

I was also dismayed to find that Baja Fresh had closed so suddenly. I went into Saladworks to ask about it, they did not know. (If it was competition from Sworks, it certainly worked fast!) I went there often! Even though at lunch the parking is a challenge (yes, I know about the garage behind Whole Foods). The staff was always great, the food was clean and reliable and varied. The trouble with Chipotle is parking - soon only people who live or work in RTC will be able to eat there - but after nearly 30 years within walking distance of what became RTC, I'm moving to Winchester (retirement community).

I would like to see a Firehouse Subs there. They have the best meats and cheeses, their bread is fresh, and they do a lot for communities.
