Boston Properties Plans Luxury Rentals at Town Center

Group hopes to break ground on 15-story building in late 2011.

More residential choices are in the works for

Boston Properties is planning a 359-unit, 15-story luxury rental building at the intersection of St. Francis, Bluemont and Explorer Street and Town Square.

The area, currently known as Block 16, is the only undeveloped land remaining in the current Town Center footprint. The building project does not yet have a name, says Boston Properties Senior Project Manager Rich Ellis.

Ellis says Boston Properties is still in the Planned Residential Community zoning and application process with the county, but hopes to break ground in late 2011 or early 2012.

The project will also have about 28,000 square feet of retail space at street level, Ellis said.

Boston Properties is the developer/owner of Town Center's One Freedom Square, the South of Market buildings and Democracy Tower at Town Center, among other properties.
