Boston Properties Eyes Last Spot at RTC

Group seeks to buy 4.5-acre undeveloped parcel at Reston Town Center.

Boston Properties is working on acquiring the last remaining undeveloped land parcel at Reston Town Center.

According to a report from the CoStar Group, the 4.5-acre plot, currently owned by Beacon Capital Partners, will sell for about $27 million ($6 million per acre).

The parcel is commercially zoned for 250,000 square feet of office space. Boston Properties is evaluating a potential mixed-use development plan, which could include residential as well as commercial uses, CoStar said.

Beacon owns the original potion of the property that opened in 1990. Boston Properties owns and manages the newer part of RTC South of Market Street and is working on purchasing the Fountain Square buildings.

...and they have there very own, dedicated, Board of Supervisors representative, Cathy Hudgins, willing to fight, and if necessary, beat down the throw aways, the insignifcants, the non-elite. You know, the residents. Government by the billionaire elite and for the billionaire elite, that's our precious Cathy.

Oh, but wait...she's a Democrat. What does that mean? It means, that unlike Republicans, who ruthlessly discard 99% of the population in attempt to pursue the demands of their special interests, she will do so as well, but when she shafts you on behalf of a special interest, she'll do it with empathy.

Do you feel better now?

Exactly how does she benefit from this? Are you suggesting that Ms. Hudgins benefits personally from any of this? I'm not seeing any evidence of her living high on the hog. Please explain more clearly how she benefits from supporting this development which was planned 25+ years ago?

Those people don't flaunt their ill-gotten gains while still in the public eye. Duh...

It's the dumbest accusation I've ever heard, Ms. Hudgins is clearly not on the take-- she may not be more than your average bureaucrat, but she's clearly not a crook.
