Love Your Body Day, which kicks of Virginia Yoga Week, is the brainchild of Maryam Ovissi  and Odisa Walker, co-owners of Reston's studio. The expansion of this year's event at the town center shows not just the growth of yoga in Northern Virginia, but also the growth of small businesses, says Ovissi.

"Last year, we had four or five studios participating," she said. "This year, there are 10 to 12. This shows there is a lot of people interested in yoga, and also there are a lot of yoga businesses."

Walker and Ovissi will lead the 9 a.m. flow yoga class to begin the event. The day winds up with a 3:15 p.m. live concert by yoga musician Wade Morissette (brother of GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette.

Ovissi says Love Your Body Day is for experienced yogis and newcomers alike,.

"This is absolutely for the public," she says. "This is a way for people who want to know about yoga. Maybe they are thinking about making the leap from gym classes to a studio. This makes yoga accessible for them. Even if they are not ready to participate, at least they can observe."
