On Friday, Dec. 14, select assortment discount grocer ALDI will offer Northern Virginia-area shoppers a smarter alternative as it opens its first Chantilly store, located at 13920 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway. With more than 1,200 stores in 32 states, ALDI is known for high-quality grocery items at unbeatable prices.

To celebrate the opening of its first Chantilly store, ALDI will host a grand opening preview event and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13. Community members are invited to join ALDI executives and city officials until 4 p.m. to tour the new store, sample ALDI exclusive brands and enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to be one of five winners of a holiday entertaining prize pack, including seasonal items and ALDI gift certificates. The Chantilly store will officially open for business on Friday, Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.

Customers can expect to find more than 1,400 of the most frequently purchased items sold under ALDI exclusive brands for prices up to 50 percent less^* than traditional supermarkets. A model of efficiency, ALDI eliminates overhead costs by offering smart practices, such as a cart rental system through which shoppers insert a quarter to release a cart and receive the quarter back upon the cart’s return. Other cost-saving practices include a smaller store footprint, open carton displays and encouragement of customers to bring their own shopping bags.
