Help Wanted: Reston Museum Executive Director

Position: Part-time Executive Director (20 hrs/week) for the Reston Historic Trust/Reston Museum

Qualifications: A Master's degree or equivalent experience in urban planning, museum studies, history or architecture. Prior management experience required. Experience in non-profit fundraising and development a plus. Fluent in the use of social media and related technologies desirable.

Supervision: Works directly under the direction of the Reston Historic Trust Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities:
Administration: Manages the daily operations of the Reston Museum including the recruitment and training of volunteer docents, the archives, and the Museum shop.  Supports the Board and committees in all aspects of operations.

Development: Creates and administers all development initiatives, including membership recruitment, grants, and planned giving.  

Programs: Works with the program committee to develop and provide educational programs in the schools and the community. Forms partnerships with other organizations
to enhance program offerings.  Oversees the development of new exhibits.

Salary: Negotiable
